The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) consists of MHA Headquarters, 7 Home Team departments and 3 statutory boards, and is known collectively as the Home Team.

We work as One Home Team, in close partnership with the community, to keep Singapore safe and secure.

Description

As an SCDF scholar under the MHA Uniformed Scholarship, you will gain cross-functional exposure to acquire emergency response acumen, lifesaving skills, policy conceptualisation knowledge as well as command and leadership abilities. Leadership, mentorship and talent programmes are put in place to prepare SCDF scholars to take up key appointments.

If you meet the criteria, you will be placed on the Home Team Leaders-in Development Programme, and be groomed as a future Home Team leader.

You may also be emplaced on the Public Sector Leadership Programme (PSLP), where you will acquire knowledge and capabilities to take on key leadership appointments in the Home Team and the wider Public Service.

Requirement/Conditions

Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
GCE A-Levels, IB, Poly, NUS High School, or other high school diploma/certificate; current undergraduate students (not in final year of studies) may also apply. You may apply prior to receiving your final examination results. Should you be found suitable for a scholarship, you may be made a provisional scholarship offer that is subject to confirmation upon the release of your results
Good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records
Strong leadership qualities and potential
Possess strong interest in safeguarding the safety and security of Singapore
Perform well in National Service (for male applicants)
Excel in Officer Cadet Course in MINDEF or MHA (for candidates aspiring for the Singapore Merit Scholarship Tier)

For Mid-Term Scholarships, the following criteria would additionally apply:

Currently pursuing full-time undergraduate studies and on track for graduation with at least 2nd Upper Honours or equivalent
Have completed at least one semester and not in the final year of undergraduate studies at point of application
