The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) consists of MHA Headquarters, 7 Home Team departments and 3 statutory boards, and is known collectively as the Home Team.

We work as One Home Team, in close partnership with the community, to keep Singapore safe and secure.

Each Home Team Department has its specific roles and responsibilities, working towards a common mission and vision.

The HTX Scholarship is for outstanding STEM students who are passionate about advancing Science and Technology to force multiply our Home Team and secure Singapore’s future.

Make the leap and join us as an HTX Scholar. Apply your knowledge in the fields of science, digital and engineering, working with a range of exciting technologies and innovative solutions that augment the Home Team’s capabilities in saving lives, solving crimes, securing borders, safeguarding data and systems, and enhancing public safety and security.

Course of Study

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

Bond Period

4 years (local), 5 years (overseas in non-English-speaking country), 6 years (overseas in English-speaking country

Value of Awards

Tuition and compulsory fees for undergraduate studies
Monthly overseas or local maintenance allowance (including accommodation)
Pre-study allowance
Return economy class airfare (for overseas scholars)
Sponsorship for Masters and exchange programmes (if requirements are met)

Requirement/Conditions

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
Strong leadership qualities and potential
Possess strong interest in the Science and Technology sector and safeguarding the safety and security of Singapore
Good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records
GCE A-Levels, IB, Poly, NUS High School, or other high school diploma/certificate
Current undergraduate students (not in final year of studies) may also apply. You may apply prior to receiving your final examination results. Should you be found suitable for a scholarship, you may be made a provisional scholarship offer that is subject to confirmation upon the release of your results.

For Mid-Term Scholarship, the following criteria would additionally apply:

Currently pursuing full-time undergraduate studies and on track for graduation with at least 2nd Upper Honours or equivalent
Have completed at least one semester and not in the final year of undergraduate studies at point of application.

The HTX Scholarship is open to male and female applicants.
